As I’ve blogged about before, you shouldn’t mix different Aulonocara species to avoid mixed hybrid species to appear. But, you can have the same species but from different locations.
Aulonocara stuartgranti is a very variable coloured species. Take a look!
Aulonocara stuartgranti Chilumba
Aulonocara stuartgranti Mdoka
Aulonocara stuartgranti Chitande Island
Aulonocara stuartgranti Mbowe Island
Aulonocara stuartgranti Lions Cove
Aulonocara stuartgranti Mundola Point
Aulonocara stuartgranti Maleri Island
Aulonocara stuartgranti Cobue
Some localities are very similar like Mundola Point and Lions Cove or Chitande Island and Mbowe Island.
With this species, for example, you may have a lot of variations but it’s still the same fish so it’s safe to keep in the same aquarium. This is my favourite Aulonocara species that is why I picked it!
