As I’ve blogged about before, you shouldn’t mix different Aulonocara species to avoid mixed hybrid species to appear. But, you can have the same species but from different locations.

Some localities are very similar like Mundola Point and Lions Cove or Chitande Island and Mbowe Island.

With this species, for example, you may have a lot of variations but it’s still the same fish so it’s safe to keep in the same aquarium. This is my favourite Aulonocara species that is why I picked it!
