If you want a Geophagus communal tank? You should consider a Venezuelan setup.

Yes! A Venezuelan tank setup is the way to go if you want many different Geophagus species in the same aquarium, because these species lives together in the wild. So it’s “normal” for them to live in a communal setup. Check this fishes out!

Geophagus altifrons grows to 30cm (12in) from “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

Geophagus dicrozoster 24cm (9,7in) from “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

Geophagus taeniopareius grows up to 15cm (6in) from ”Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

Geophagus winemelleri grows to 30cm (10in) is RARE in the trade. Originates from “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela as well as Colombia”.

And to have a little more flair and colour add these:

Microgeophagus ramirezi “Blue Ram” 4,5cm (1,8in) “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

Pterophyllum altum 18cm (7,3in) & 30cm (12in) tall as adult. Habitat is “Rio Orinoco in Venzuela”.

And for some more Geophagus under the Satanoperca genus: Satanoperca deamon Peaceful 25cm (10in) from “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

Satanoperca mapiritensis 18cm (7,3in) from “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.

And why not Acarichthys heckelii adult size 20cm (8in) lives in “Rio Orinoco in Venezuela”.
